Modi expresses deep shock at death of Khaleda Zia

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow at the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda.

In a message, he said, “I recall my warm meeting with her in Dhaka in 2015. We hope that her vision and legacy will continue to guide our partnership. May her soul rest in peace.”

“With profound sorrow and a heavy heart, I extend my deepest condolences on the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, Chairperson of BNP, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and your beloved mother,” Modi wrote.

He also offered prayers for her bereaved family, saying, ”May Almighty God grant her family the strength to bear this tragic loss.”
