Robbers looted valuables from a house after injuring six people at Silam village in South Surma upazila early Sunday.
Witnesses said a gang of armed robbers stormed the house of Alfu, a member of Silam Union Parishad, at about 2:00 am by breaking open the door and held the house inmates hostage at gunpoint.
They looted gold ornaments, cash Tk5 lakhs and other valuables from the house. The hand looms beat six family members, including Alfu and his wife, as they tried to resist them.
The injured were admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. On information, police visited the spot on Sunday morning.
