Spanish giants Real Madrid’s Portuguese international striker Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted he is happy at the star-studded club, despite its failure to win a major trophy season last season.
It was the first time Ronaldo spoke to the press since the controversy surrounding his 30th birthday party the same day that Real Madrid lost 0-4 to city rivals Atletico Madrid in January, since Xinhua.
Recent days had seen the Spanish press speculate that this could be the moment to sell the 30-year-old who was also rumoured to be unhappy at the ongoing transfer conflict between the club and its defender Sergio Ramos.
‘I am doing this to conform that rumours of a conflict between Real Madrid and myself are totally false,’ Ronaldo was quoted as saying on Saturday to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.
‘I am very happy at the best club in the world and also confident that we are about to start a new period which is going to be full of success.’
‘I repeat once again that I am at the best club in the world, where I want to be able to win again. I have not spoken to any other media and I am not going to do so while I on holiday, I am happy with Real Madrid and they are happy with me,’ he added.
