9th Currry Life Award and World Curry Expo held in London

 

To honour the curry chefs in the UK, the 9th Curry Award was  held in Lancaster Hotel in Central London on 7th October.  Leading British MPs, top businessmen, journalists, caterers and notable community personalities attended this colorful event. Editor of Curry Life Syed Belal Ahmed and President of London Bangla Press Club Syed Nahash Pasha managed the overall event.

Curry Life magazine has been serving the curry industry for more than a decade and recognized as a measure of standard in curry industry.

This time this Award ceremony was supplemented with Curry Expo.  The main vision to organise the Curry Expo was to create a bridge between the clients and suppliers who are the main driving force of curry industry.

Online ordering company Just Eat was the main sponsor of this year’s Curry Expo whereas Cobra, Chivas, Unisoft Solution and Travel Link were this year’s associate sponsors.

Presenter John Snow presented the whole event.  The guests who attended the event included Rushanara Ali MP, Rupa Haque MP, former High Commissioner Anwar Chowdhury and other British Bangladeshi celebraties.

Chief Executive of Hilton Singapore Qazi Hasan received this year’s Curry Life International Award.  In addition to this, in memory of former President of Bangladesh Caterers Association late Mohammod Abdur Rahim, Curry Life award added Curry Life M A Rahim memorial award. President of UKBCI and former President of BCA Baklur Rashid MBE received this award.

Ashkor Ali of Mohan Restaurent in Worthing, Chef Abdul Hai of The Indian Ocean Restaurant  in Cambridge, Chef Sheikh Kamrul Islam of Cliff Restaurant in Kent, Chef Ansar Miah of Markyourt of Hertfordshire,Chef Alam Hossain of Taste of Paradise Restaurant  in Newport and Chef Steven Lee of Hakland Restaurent in Harrow received the Best Chef Awards this year.

The Best Takeaway Award went to Captain Korma of Essex, Mast Restaurant in London, Sujona Indian and Bangladeshi Cuisine and Cinnamon of Wake field  received the Best Restaurant Award.
