North England Bangladeshi TV Journalists Association and UK Bangla Reporters Unity held an exchange of views

On the initiative of North England Bangladeshi TV Journalists Association, discussion and exchange meeting with journalists of UK Bangla Reporters Unity was held in view of Independence Day.
Kazi Ziaul Hasan, Bangladesh Assistant High Commissioner, Manchester, UK, was present as the chief guest at a restaurant in Oldham on Monday (20 March 2023) afternoon .
The event was presided over in two separate episodes – North England Bangladeshi TV Journalists Association President Sheikh Surat Miah and 71 News editor Syed Sadeq Ahmed moderated the meeting.

Speaking on behalf of UK Bangla Reporters Unity from London – former president of UK Bangla Reporters Unity Ansar Ahmad Ullah, former president Muhammad Shahed Rahman, CEO of 26th Television Jamal Khan and Assistant Secretary Aminul Haque Wech.

Assistant High Commissioner Kazi Ziaul Hasan said in the speech of the chief guest at the meeting – Bangabandhu, Bangladesh and the liberation war are three issues that are universal. There is no room for criticism on these issues. Liberation war is the most glorious event of Bengali nation.

He said to the journalists – newspaper is the mirror of society. In this mirror, we should see our society, the country beautifully. For this, journalists have to play an important role by sending objective news.

In response to a question of journalist Ansar Ahmad Ullah regarding the recognition of expatriate liberation war organizers and organizations in the bill, he also said — Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the government are very sincere in this matter.
He urged the journalists to create and disseminate neutral stories about the organizers and organizations of the expatriate liberation war. This will make our work easier.

North England Bangladeshi TV Journalists Association and UK Bangla Reporters Unity initiative Bangladesh High Commission Manchester wants to be a partner in any philanthropic work in Manchester. You take the initiative, the High Commission will play a role.

Assistant High Commissioner Kazi Ziaul Hasan supported when Jamal Than proposed a friendly badminton competition of UK Bangla Reporters Unity in Manchester in his speech — all cooperation will continue to complete the game and other training.

Later, the leaders of these two journalists’ organizations exchanged views in a friendly meeting. Sheikh Surat Mia, Syed Sadek, Aminul Haque Weche and Jamal Khan and others participated in the discussion.

Muhammed Shahed Rahman, former president of UK Bangla Reporters Unity, outlined the aims and objectives of the organization. He said that this organization has already provided scholarships for students from journalist families in Bangladesh in 2022 and 2023. The UK BRU has launched the Media Awards and Best Reporter of the Year to recognize the work of journalists. Training, sports, organizing badminton tournaments and entertainment tours for reporters are being organized regularly. He is regularly raising his hand in humanitarian work.

In this meeting, journalist leaders expressed their determination to work together for the development of the community in addition to sending objective news.
