Banks in industrial areas to remain open June 27-28 for RMG salaries

Banks will keep their branches open on a limited scale in the industrial areas on Tuesday and Wednesday (June 27 & 28) to facilitate the payments of salaries, and festival allowances to the garment workers, employees before Eid-ul-Azha.

The Department of Off-site Supervision of the Bangladesh Bank issued a circular in this regard and sent it to the top executives of all the scheduled banks on Wednesday.

It said the bank branches are in Dhaka metropolitans, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj and Chattogram.

The clients will be able to do banking transactions between 10am and 2pm, but the office will remain open until 3pm.
After the Eid-ul-Azha holiday, banks will resume activities from July 2 and provide banking services from 10am to 5pm.

The holy Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated across the country on June 29.

The government has extended the Eid-ul Azha holidays to four days from June 27 to 30.
