Their concerns have been addressed through CSA: Law Minister

Law Minister Anisul Huq has said that they will understand how much changes have been made if they read the draft of Cyber Security Act keeping the Digital Security Act beside it.

“Their concerns have been addressed through the Cyber Security Act,” he said while talking to newsmen after addressing a meeting on the ‘National Mourning Day and Martyrs of August 15’ organised by Akhaura Upazila Awami League at Azampur Station in Akhaura on Thursday.

The Law Minister made the remarks in response to the Wednesday’s press conference of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) executive director Iftekharuzzaman.

Addressing the press conference, Iftekharuzzaman said, “I think that the Cyber Security Act is going to be another oppressive act. The Digital Security Act which was identified as a ‘black law,’ the Cyber Security Act is also going to be identified as another oppressive act in the same way if it is passed in parliament.”

Akhaura Awami League president Mohammad Ali Chowdhury, municipal mayoir anmd Upazila Awami League general secretary Takjil Khalifa Kajol, Akhaura Upazila Parishad chairman Abul Kashem Bhuiyan, Kasba Upazila Parishad chairman Rashedul Kawsar Jibon, Kasba Municipal mayor Golam Hakkani and District Council member Abdul Aziz were present.
