U-21 hockey team accorded reception

Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) accorded a warm reception to the men’s junior (U-21) national hockey team on Thursday for qualifying in FIH Hockey Junior World Cup for the first time.

The hockey team returned home from Oman in the morning. Later, the players and coaching staffs of the hockey team were taken to at the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Falcon Hall in Tejgaon where the reception ceremony was held.

BHF president and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan and other officials of federation present in the function.

BHF president Mahmood Khan handed over Tk 5 lakh to the players and coaching staff.

Bangladesh ended fifth in the recently concluded Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2024 after beating China by 6-3 goals in a place-deciding match (fifth/sixth) at the Hockey Oman Stadium in Muscat on Wednesday.

Earlier, Bangladesh U-21 youth hockey team secured 5th place in the Men’s Hockey Junior Asia Cup after beating China by 6-3 goals in the place-deciding match held in Muscat, Oman on Wednesday.
