Pope’s death: Bangladesh observing 3-day state mourning

A three-day state mourning is being observed in the country following the death of Pope Francis, the Head of the Catholic Church and the State of the Vatican City.

The Cabinet Division issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday night. The mourning period will end on Saturday (April 26).

The national flag has been kept at half-mast at all government, semi-government and autonomous institutions, as well as in all educational institutions across the country.

Special prayers will be offered across the country for the repose of Pope Francis’ soul.

Pope Francis’ funeral will be held on Saturday, following three days of public viewing at St. Peter’s Basilica starting Wednesday.
