Woman’s body found hanging in Sunamganj

Police recovered the hanging body of a woman from Dungria village of Shantiganj upazila in Sunamganj on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Fouzia Begum, 28, wife of Foyez Ahmed, a resident of the same village in the upazila.

Confirming the matter, Shantiganj Police Station officer-in-charge Akram Ali said that locals spotted Fouzia hanging from the ceiling of her room and informed police.

Being informed, a team of police rescued the body from the spot and sent it to Sunamganj General Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.

The reason behind her committing suicide could not be known immediately, the police official said.

They were looking into the matter, the OC added.
