Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is set to leave for Rome, Italy on Sunday to attend the flagship event of World Food Forum, hosted by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.

According to Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, Professor Yunus and his delegation will depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:30 AM aboard a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight bound for the Italian capital.

During the visit, Professor Yunus will deliver a speech as an invited guest speaker at main session of the Forum.

He is also scheduled to meet with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and heads of various international organizations to discuss pressing global issues such as food security, poverty alleviation and sustainable development.

The World Food Forum is a high-level global platform organized by FAO, bringing together policymakers, researchers and innovators from around the world to exchange ideas and shape the future of global food systems.

This year’s event will take place at FAO headquarters in Rome from October 10 to 17.

Professor Yunus’ participation in the Forum is being viewed as a significant reflection of Bangladesh’s active engagement in international diplomacy on key global challenges.

The Chief Adviser is expected to return to Bangladesh on October 15.
