Biman to resume Dhaka-Sylhet-Manchester flights from 1 July

Biman Bangladesh Airlines is set to resume flights on the Dhaka-Sylhet-Manchester route on 1 July following the completion of Hajj operations, aiming to ease travel for expatriates and meet growing passenger demand.

The decision was made in line with directives from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international connectivity, according to a press release issued on Monday.

Initially, the national flag carrier will operate two weekly flights on Saturdays and Tuesdays, flying from Dhaka to Manchester via Sylhet.

According to the schedule, flights will depart from Dhaka at 10:55am and Sylhet at 12:50pm, arriving in Manchester at 10:55pm (local time). The return flight will depart from Manchester at 9pm, arriving in Sylhet the following day at 11:50am and in Dhaka at 1:30pm.

The route had been temporarily suspended from 1 March to maintain operational stability and optimise fleet utilisation, officials said.

Biman authorities expect the resumption of the route to facilitate smoother travel for Bangladeshi expatriates in the United Kingdom and enhance passenger services on a key international route.

Passengers have been advised to contact Biman sales centres, authorised travel agencies or visit the airline’s website for booking and further information.
