The Bangladesh women’s cricket team will begin a two-week fitness camp at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium from Saturday as part of preparations for a busy international season.

The camp will run until 1 August, with the coaching staff focusing on improving the players’ fitness, strength and conditioning before they move onto cricket-specific training.

It was learned that all-rounder Shorna Akter and right-arm pacer Marufa Akter will not take part in the camp as both are sitting for examinations.

The fitness programme is aimed at preparing the squad for two major assignments later this year—the 2026 Asian Games and an away tour of Australia.
