Motorcyclist killed in truck collision

Habiganj Correspondent : A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a truck in Olipur area of Habiganj on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Khalek, 50, son of late Aftab Hossain, from Ikram village in Baniachong upazila.

According to locals, Khalek was travelling by motorcycle from Morakari village in Lakhai upazila to visit his in-laws. When he reached Olipur on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway, a truck hit his motorcycle, leaving him critically injured. He died at the scene.

On information, police from Shayestaganj Highway Police Station reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of Habiganj District Sadar Modern Hospital for autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge of Shayestaganj Highway Police Station Syed Imrul Shahed confirmed the incident, saying legal proceedings were underway.
