One held with counterfeit notes in Sylhet

Police arrested a young man in possession of fake Bangladesh currency notes amounting to Tk 1,79,000 from Bodikuna area under Dakshin Surma thana in the Sylhet on Tuesday night.

The arrestee was identified as Lokus Miah (50), a resident of Fechugonj upazila in Sylhet district. He used to live in Bodikuna area under Dakshin Surma thana of the Sylhet.

Mohsin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dakshin Surma Police Station, said on secret information, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Lokus Miah along with forged notes of Tk1,79,000 denomination each after searching Lokus’s house.
The arrestee has been involved in circulation of forged notes, said the OC.
