Holiday activities success in Southall

32Children in Southall enjoyed two weeks of sporting activities at London Tigers Sports Complex over their

Easter holiday break from school. The programme saw over 50 local children aged 6-12 years old making

new friends and learning new skills over fun football activities. They learned drills and techniques and

played matches against each other. On their last day, Friday 8th April, they were presented medals by

special guest, Faisal Ali, Director of Gifto’s, to recognise their efforts and attainment.

“I used to play cricket at this park when I was young,” said Ali. “I have a lot of good memories of this

park. It’s good to see this wonderful facility here now giving opportunities to the locals. Giftos are very

happy to support this London Tigers’ great work.”

The holiday programmes at London Tigers Sports Complex aims to support the local community by

providing much needed services. These programmes help them keep healthy, stay safe, participate in

activities. This also gives working parents a place for their children to spend time during the school

holidays whilst they are at work.

“It’s phenomenal to see some many kids participating in our programme,” said Centre Manager, Helal

Mohammed. “We ran this on the request of many parents who benefited from our previous holiday

programmes. I am amazed at the demand and the turn out. The children are really having a lot of fun

but on the serious side we are giving them the opportunity to be healthy and setting them on a path

towards an active lifestyle, thus building their social skills and confidence and taking them away from

issues such as childhood obesity.“

London Tigers Sports Complex is based in Spikes Bridge Park, Southall with programmes for the local

community and facilities for hire, such as 3G pitches, indoor halls and cricket fields.
