Foxconn confirms ‘violence’ at China iPhone factory

Taiwanese tech giant Foxconn on Wednesday confirmed overnight “violence” at its vast iPhone factory in Zhengzhou, central China, and vowed to “avoid similar incidents” in the future.

In a statement, the company said workers had complained about pay and conditions at the plant, but denied it had housed new recruits with Covid-positive staff.
