Arif Hasan, the managing director of the private television channel Desh TV, was arrested on Saturday night from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area in the capital.
A team of Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Arif while he was trying to leave the country, said Talebur Rahman, the deputy commissioner (media and public relations) of DMP.
He was later taken to DB office.
Arif Hasan holds the general secretary post of the Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO).
He is accused in an attempted murder case filed with the Airport Police Station on July 19 during the student-led movement.
