Leaders and activists of Awami League (AL) once again took to the streets of the capital, staging a sudden flash procession.
The rally was held on Friday in Uttara, within the Dhaka-18 parliamentary constituency.
According to reports, members of AL and its affiliated organizations participated in the procession, chanting various slogans as they marched.
The slogans included: “Who are you, who am I? Bengali, Bengali,” “Your address and mine—Padma, Meghna, Jamuna,” “Sheikh Hasina will return, Bangladesh will smile,” “Sheikh Hasina has no fear, we have not left the streets,” and “Sheikh Hasina’s government is needed again and again.”
The procession was led by Atikur Rahman Milon, general secretary of AL’s Uttarkhan union unit under Dhaka North City.
Earlier, on Tuesday (April 15), the Awami League held a similar surprise procession on the main road stretching through Badda, Bhatara, and Rampura in the capital.
It is worth noting that on August 5, the government of Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League fell following a student and mass uprising. Since then, Awami League leaders and activists have occasionally organized flash processions at various points across the city.
