Weekend offer : Unlimited travel on London buses and trams for £1.75

Muhammed Shahed Rahman : “Weekend offer” is creating an opportunity to explore the entire city at a low cost during this summer vacation in London, United Kingdom. This oper has already become the center of discussion among Londoners.

Ahead of the current summer school holidays, special travel facilities called “Weekend Hours” are being introduced on the capital’s public transport system.

Under this special offer, unlimited travel on London buses and trams will be available for just £1.75 every Saturday and Sunday from July 25 to 31 August 2026.

The initiative was officially announced by London Mayor Sadiq Khan on Monday, May 11, 2026.

London City Hall said the initiative was taken to reduce travel costs for families, students, and low-income people during school holidays.

There will be additional benefits for families and tourists.

The summer holidays typically see crowds at London’s parks, museums, entertainment venues and tourist attractions increase. The new “Weekend offer” will make it easier to travel from one end of the city to the other at a lower cost.

It is believed that families traveling with children will benefit the most from this facility.

At the same time, it can also become attractive to tourists.

Encouraging eco-friendly travel According to analysts, one of the objectives of this plan is to encourage people to use public transport more by reducing the use of private cars. This will not only reduce traffic congestion on the roads, but also reduce environmental pollution to some extent.

According to Transport for London, the bus and tram network is one of the most affordable and accessible modes of transport in the capital. The new initiative is expected to further increase ridership at weekends.

Since the announcement, many have welcomed the initiative on social media, commenting that such an initiative will bring relief to the common man, especially in the current high cost of living.
