The Bangladesh High Commission in Abuja showcased the country’s rich cultural heritage, tourism potential and export products at the inaugural Diplomatic Cultural Festival organised by Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The festival, held on 13 June in Abuja, brought together representatives from more than 41 diplomatic missions, providing a vibrant platform for cultural exchange and international engagement.
As part of its participation, the Bangladesh High Commission set up an exhibition booth featuring a range of Bangladeshi export products alongside photographs highlighting some of the country’s leading tourist attractions. Visitors were also treated to traditional Bangladeshi delicacies, while a cultural performance by the mission received widespread appreciation from attendees.
One of the major attractions of the event was a colourful national parade led by the Bangladesh High Commission, with participants proudly carrying the national flag. Members of the Bangladeshi expatriate community in Nigeria joined the procession, adding further colour and enthusiasm to the celebration.
The High Commission’s exhibition and cultural presentations drew praise from Nigerian government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, local visitors and the Bangladeshi diaspora.
According to the mission, the festival provided an important opportunity to promote Bangladesh’s cultural identity, tourism attractions and trade prospects, while strengthening people-to-people connections.
The event also helped deepen diplomatic and cultural ties between Bangladesh, Nigeria and other participating countries, reinforcing the spirit of international friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding.
