Matthew Campbell’s fourth first-class century took Zimbabwe A to 289-6 at the end of the rain-hit second day of the second and final four-day match against Bangladesh Emerging Team at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
On the opening day, only 38 overs were possible due to rain, while on the second day just 42 overs were bowled for the same reason.
Resuming the day on 91, Campbell went on to score 119 off 118 balls, smashing 18 fours and two sixes.
His brother Johnathan contributed 33 off 67 deliveries, hitting four fours and one six, while Antum Naqvi remained unbeaten at the close on 58 off 135 balls, laced with four fours and one six.
Clive Madande failed to get going as he was removed by Musfik Hasan for nought, while Vincent Masekesa was unbeaten on three off nine balls at stumps.
Bangladesh showed much better control on day two as the main pacers, Mushfik and Anamul Haque, brought the economy rate down from over five runs per over to three and were rewarded with two wickets each.
However, off-spinner Nayeem Ahmed continued to leak runs and ended the day with figures of 1-75 from his 15 overs.
Captain Jaker Ali Anik had to turn to part-time off-spinner Afif Hossain for six overs to stop the run flow, and he managed to control the tempo of the visiting batters by conceding only 16 runs in his spell.
