A 15-member Bangladeshi cultural troupe arrived in Islamabad to showcase the country’s cultural heritage through performances at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) and Lok Virsa, as part of efforts to strengthen cultural exchanges between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

The troupe comprises musicians, dancers, vocal artists and representatives of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Cultural Affairs. Md Abdus Satter, a renowned Bangladeshi painter and printmaker, is also part of the delegation, a press release read on Friday.

The visit has been arranged in line with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s decision to promote cultural exchanges between the two countries.

A Cultural Exchange Programme was signed during the visit to Bangladesh by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, last year.

The performances in Islamabad will provide a platform for the Bangladeshi artists to present their country’s culture to Pakistani audiences.
