Youth killed in bus-motorcycle collision in Habiganj

A youth was killed in a head-on collision between a bus and motorcycle in the Ratanpur area on the Habiganj-Shaistaganj road of Sadar upazila on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Tanvir, 25, son of Sobaraj Mia, of Bulla village in Lakhai upazila. He worked at a computer shop in Shaistaganj.

Officer-in-Charge of Habiganj Sadar Police Station Zahidul Haque said Tanvir travelled to Habiganj for some work. While returning to Shaistaganj on his motorcycle around 8:00 pm, he collided with a bus of Biratihin Paribahan while overtaking a tomtom in the Ratanpur area.

Mentioning the incident, the OC added that Tanvir, who was riding pillion on the motorcycle, was thrown onto the road and sustained critical injuries.

He was rushed to a hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
