UK ex pat Bengalis celebrate the winning of Bengali trio in the UK election

 Following the amazing win by three Bengalis, Rushanara Ali, Rupa Huq & Tulip Siddiq, in the UK 2015 general election the East End Bengali community spontaneously celebrated the victory of the three.

Following Jumma prayer at the Brick Lane Mosque on 8 May local people gathered at a community centre in Banglatown to celebrate the victory of Rushanara Ali in Bethnal Green & Bow constituent, Rupa Huq in Ealing Central & Acton and Tulip Siddiq in Hampstead & Kilburn constituent.

People at the gathering said it was a joyous and proud occasion as the community has been struggling for a long time to send Bengalis to the UK parliament to represent them and their issues. Everybody congratulated the winners and wished them a very positive career in Westminster and exchanged sweet meat. Amongst the guests present were Sylhet ex-mayor Kamran, Sylhet ex MP Shofiqur Rahman Chowdhury & political activist & UK AL’s president Sultan Shariff. Moulana Shofiqur Rahman Biplobi led prayer wishing the three well in their chosen political career.
