We will continue with all popular works including town hall and graveyard: Rabina Khan

Independent candidate for the post of Executive Mayor of Tower Hamlets Rabina Khan said that if she is elected, she will make sure that none of the popular pending works falls in risk including Whitechapel Vision, building of new town hall, graveyard and others.  She also said that she will continue to work on all the popular and successful agendas of former Mayor.   Rabina Khan also pleaded to bring new changes which will overwhelmingly benefit the local community.  Housing Cabinet Member Rabina Khan told this in her campaign meeting held in Whitechapel area recently.

Former Executive Mayor Lutfur Rahman, former Borough Secretary of Labour Party Steven Beckett, Whitechapel Market Business Association Leader Shah Alom, Barrister Ataur Rahman, Community Leader Abu Taher Chowdhury, Deputy Mayor Cllr Oliur Rahman, Cabinet member Golam Rabbani, Cabinet member Aminur Khan and others were present at the campaign meeting during that time.

Former Mayor Lutfur Rahman said that Rabina Khan represents the new generation and portrayed her as a modern and honourable woman.  He also said that the way people of Tower Hamlets showed their love and affection towards him, people of Tower Hamlets will do the same to her.  He said that people here will always want the improvement of the borough along with the commitment which ensured the development of the local community.  Due to this reason he is urging to the people of Tower Hamlets to cast their votes in favour of Rabina Khan and let her continue the development works that he could not finish.

Member of the former Mayor’s Team, Rabina Khan recently joined many campaign meetings and mega-campaigns. Last week she joined in Bow, Mile End, Stepny, Poplar, Lansbury, Brick Lane, St. Peters and Bethanl Green.  She met voters and community members and asked for their support.

Rabina Khan said that due to the limitation of time, they could not managed to reach every single house in the borough, however, she is touched buy the overwhelming love and support by the local people.  She also said that she could realise the acceptance of her team despite the negative campaign against the former mayor.

She emphasised that people of Tower Hamlets will take the right decision on 11th of June taking into account the history of former Mayor and her work.  The way people took their decisions on Lutfur Rahman,  she expects the citizens of Tower Hamlets will do the same for her.  The citizens of Tower Hamlets will prove again on 11th of June that they did not make any mistake by electing the former Mayor in the last election.
