Ansar Ahmed Ullah :: Syed Ryem Salim has recently graduated from the East London University in architect. He acquired a first class second honours. Talented Ryem scored top marks in all subjects from the very beginning. Though Ryem is slightly disappointed as his tutors had predicted and he had hoped for a first class first.
Ryem recently appeared on Bengali satellite TV ATN Bangla UK’s ‘Education Hour’ where he thanked all mighty Allah, his parents, family members and tutors for their support and guidance for his success.
At present Ryem is working voluntarily with his professor at the university to prepare himself for the job market as well as preparing himself for Masters.
Syed Ryem Salim’s parents are journalist writer Syed Shah Salim Ahmed and Sajmun Nahar Salim. His younger brother Ryan Salim who is studying for A levels is planning to go to university this September. His younger sister Rysa Salim is at school.
Ryem’s family are originally from Subid Bazar, Sylhet. His grandfather was educationalist Syed Jahadar Miah and grandmother Syeda Jumeya Khatun, youngest daughter of Sylhet’s famous zemindar Ajmal Ali Chowdhury. Salims are related to Bangladesh’s current finance minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith, national professor Dr Shahla Khatun, diplomat Dr Abdul Momen, Tultikor Union Chairman Alhj Md Abdul Musabbir and health care provider Shah Kamal Chowdhury.
