Eden Care, Muslim Burial Fund, Emergency Aid & Sylhet Aid launched 18 months ago and has created a seismic impact in the community within a very short period of time.
Under the banner of 13 Rivers Trust each project has gone from strength to strength. The project commenced in January 2015 with a zero budget and with total dependency on volunteers. With the dedication of the many individuals involved the groundbreaking grassroots programme has blossomed – going from strength to strength.
Project manager Abu Mumin said: “We started in January 2015 with no funding but just a vision and total dependency on volunteers and their time. Since then we have achieved amazing results as Eden Care befriending service, the Muslim Burial Fund and Emergency Aid have successfully made huge differences to the lives of needy individuals. Every volunteer has played a crucial role in the success of the organisation to date.”
Over the last 18 months, over 35 volunteers have registered and supported the organisation to deliver services – From visiting the sick, to burying the needy, to gifting wheelchairs to the disabled. Volunteers have also travelled to Greece to support refugees.
On Sunday volunteers came together to celebrate their achievements and recognise the impact of this contribution in enabling the organisation to reach its goal. 35 volunteers were recognised for their time, effort and contribution of which 4 volunteers received awards for their exceptional contribution.
