Fakhrul-Rizvi among 8 BNP men indicted

A court in Dhaka on Sunday framed charges against eight BNP leaders and activists, including the party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, in a case filed under Explosive Substance Act.

Other accused in the case are the party senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Jamaat leader Dr Muhammad Shafiqul Islam Masud, Saiful Alam Nirab, Moazzem Hossain babu, Azizul Bari Helal, Kazi Rezaul Haque Babu and Khandaker Enamul Haque Enam.

Earlier this morning, all the accused, including Mirza Fakhrul, appeared in the court for the hearing and sought acquittal pleading them innocent.

Meanwhile, the state lawyers were in the court for charge framing. After hearing, Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzel Hossain passed the order of charge frame.
