China won the first gold medal of Paris 2024 Olympics on Saturday as it beat Republic of Korea 16-12 in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Final at Chateauroux.
The Chinese pair of Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao led the Korean duo of Kim Jihyeon and Park Hajun after losing the first round and never fell behind again.
Earlier, Kazakhstan duo Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev won the first medal of the Olympic Games on Saturday after claiming an upset bronze in the 10-metre mixed team air rifle event.
Le and Satpayev cruised to victory over Germany’s Maximilian Ulbrich and Anna Janssen, outscoring their opponents 17-5 at Chateauroux, reports AFP.
