Additional police near JaPa office

Security has been beefed up around the central office of the Jatiya Party (JaPa) at Bijoynagar area in the capital.

Strict security measures have been implemented, and no party leaders, activists, and others are allowed to gather at the spot.

Earlier, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned all forms of public gathering at Kakrail and adjoining areas in the capital. The DMP issued the public notice a day after demonstrations and counter-demonstrations were called at the Jatiya Party and Chhatra Odhikar Parishad at Kakrail on Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, JaPa on Friday night postponed its rally and protest procession scheduled for Saturday.

DMP said additional police members have been deployed to avert any untoward incidents.
