Khaleda Zia declared ‘very important person’, SSF assigned

The government has officially declared BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia as a Very Important Person and approved the deployment of the Special Security Force for her protection.

The Chief Adviser Office issued the gazette notification on Monday (December 1).

The notification was signed by Mohammad Abdul Wadud Chowdhury, Director General (Administration) of the Chief Adviser’s Office, on behalf of the President.

“The government, exercising powers under Section 2(a) of the Special Security Force Act 2021, hereby declares former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia as a Very Important Person. This order takes immediate effect,” the notification said.

Khaleda Zia has been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for several days due to multiple age-related health complications.
