Eleanor met with THCH’s Bethnal Green residents at one of their regular board meetings where it was agreed to support a bid for refurbishment works and if successful, the resident’s board would add an additional £5,000 from their area budget to supplement the works ~ meaning residents would benefit from over £27,000 of improvement works THCH and PATH will be meeting with local residents in February to discuss ideas and finalise plans with work due to start late spring/early summer. THCH’s Communications & Community Development Manager, Andy Coleborn said “The London Marathon Trust has awarded grants totaling £4.8million to organisations in London and immense credit and thanks must go to Eleanor from PATH for securing funds to improve one of our resident play areas”.

We are proud of the fact that 100% of this surplus goes to charity. In addition runners in the 2014 Marathon raised more than £53 million for charities of their own choice and this money went, as always, directly to those charities.Since the race began £53m has been allocated by the London Marathon Charitable Trust in total to recreational projects and the runners themselves have raised over £663m which has gone directly to charities of their choosing.
