Woman killed, 10 injured in Habiganj road crash

A woman was killed and 10 others were injured when a bus overturned at Bahubal upazila in Habiganj on Thursday night.

The accident took place around 11:00 PM on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Mukhkandi area in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Lutfa Begum, 55, a resident of Damti village under Debidwar upazila in Cumilla district.

Confirming the matter, Bahubal Model Police Station officer-in-Charge Zahidul Islam said that a Narayanganj-bound bus lost control of its steering and overturned on the road, leaving 12 people critically injured on the spot.

Locals rescued the injured and took them to Bahubal Upazila Health Complex and Habiganj Sadar Hospital for treatment.

The duty doctors pronounced Lutfa Begum dead after she was taken to Bahubal Upazila Health Complex, the OC added.
