A man died while on his way to Habiganj to get a passport for his son at Chunarughat upazila in Habiganj district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Alkach Mia, a resident of Chatpara village under Ranigao union in the upazila.
According to locals, Alkach Mia was travelling to Habiganj by CNG to get his son’s passport at around 10 AM.
Upon reaching the Dhuliakhal BISIC industrial area of Habiganj, he was run over by a truck coming from the opposite direction and died on the spot.
His son was seriously injured in the incident and has been admitted to Habiganj General Hospital.
Habiganj Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) A K M Shahabuddin Shahin confirmed the incident.
