Zaima Rahman passes first stage of Bar Council enrollment exam

Zaima Rahman, the daughter of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, has passed the first-stage (MCQ) examination for enrollment as an advocate under the Bangladesh Bar Council.

She confirmed the achievement through her verified Facebook account.

The results were published on the Bar Council’s website late Friday night. A total of 9,201 candidates passed the first-stage examination.

In a Facebook post, Zaima Rahman wrote: “Alhamdulillah, I would like to share a small personal achievement with you. Today, I appeared in the first-stage MCQ examination of the Bangladesh Bar Council to practice law in my country. By the grace of Allah, I have passed the examination.”

According to reports, she sat for the examination at the BAF Shaheen College centre. A total of 37,080 candidates had applied for this year’s test.

Candidates who successfully clear all three stages—MCQ, written, and viva voce examinations—will be enrolled as advocates.

Those who pass the enrollment process will be eligible to practice law in courts and tribunals across the country, except for the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.

The Bar Council’s Enrollment Committee is responsible for formulating decisions and guidelines related to the examination process.
