Afzal Sayed Munna appointed Vice-Chairman of Dagenham & Redbridge Sports Club

The Bangladeshi-born 38-year-old, Lecturer from University of Wales Trinity Saint David Afzal Sayed Munna has been appointed as the Vice-Chairman for Dagenham & Redbridge Sports Club. Afzal is also the Executive Member, Newham Barking & Dagenham Liberal Democrats and Liberal Democrats Campaign for Race Equality and the Independent School Representative for National Education Union (NEU), Barking and Dagenham District.

The appointment of Afzal is an important step for Dagenham & Redbridge Sports Club to cherish the club development programme in order to have the best possible chance of success on various national sports events.

‘’I am honoured and delighted to be appointed as the Dagenham & Redbridge Sports Club Vice-Chairman. I am very excited to be working with such a talented group of cricketers. It is a wonderful opportunity for me personally and I can’t wait to get started in the New Year. The club fits neatly into an excellent player pathway that will allow youngsters and adults to see they can become professional cricketers and progress to the very highest level from within UK. I am also looking forward to working with the other clubs, schools and coaches towards identifying and developing the best young cricketers and sportspersons’’ said Afzal.

The founder and chairman Mr Mohammed Faurahad said, Afzal is well respected in UK education industry and has a reputation for improving individual and team performance in many ways. He would bring experience, a sense of enjoyment and a genuine passion for the game – we are looking forward to working with him.
